Stamped Concrete

Stamped concrete is a popular choice for use in patios, pool decks, driveways, sidewalks and other walkways and concrete surfaces. Stamped concrete is concrete that has been dyed and stamped prior to curing so that the concrete resembles another building material. Stamped concrete can be made to look like almost any other other building material; popular choices for stamped concrete structures include those that are designed to look like brick, pavers, stone, and even slate. Stamped concrete allows consumers to achieve the look of more expensive natural materials while saving money and getting a durable, long lasting concrete product that requires little maintenance. Stamped concrete is also gaining popularity as a choice for interior flooring. To read more about concrete floors and cement floors click here.

The preparation of stamped concrete differs from regular, poured concrete in a few ways. Whereas regular concrete is simply mixed, poured and cured, using stamped concrete involves a few more steps. Stamped concrete requires the addition of a base color and an accent color. After the colors or dyes have been added the concrete can be stamped.
